Louis Chevrolet | Speedway LC17 on Kickstarter
The Jura-based company is launching on Kickstarter its first men’s self-winding watch: the Speedway LC17 featuring a patented strap-change concept.
This timepiece will unabashedly display its automobile inspiration: the 1963 Corvette C2. The colours of the LC17 are those of the official bodywork of this iconic car regarded as the first American roadster. In a nod to the speedways for which the collection is named and on which the Corvettes were immortalised, the dials of these watches are stamped with an asphalt motif.
Clearly proud of its origins, the LC17 features a side plate engraved with Louis Chevrolet’s slogan “Never Give Up” and the driver’s lucky number 8 with which he won many races appears on the textured crown.
These elements are complemented by numerous finishes usually reserved for the world of Haute Horlogerie: the stainless steel case is satin-brushed and polished, while the bezel and appliques are mirror-polished. The diamond-polished hands are luminescent, thanks to a Super-LumiNova coating. The LC17 has a domed sapphire crystal that is glareproofed on both sides. Visible through the transparent caseback, the beating heart of the watch is in-house Calibre LC3H.D.A, assembled, adjusted and decorated in the Jura workshops.
In addition to its top-of-the-range finishes, this timepiece features a wristband-change system patented by Louis Chevrolet. In less than ten seconds and without tools, it is possible to pair the watch with a silicon or leather strap or a steel mesh bracelet, delivered to order.
