DESIGNING A WATCH
The starting point must always be a necessarily innovative idea concerning the styling, technology or both these aspects at the same time.
When the idea moves forward to become a project, the construction engineers draw up plans and model the components using computer software.
For their part, designers achieve perfect harmony between styling and technology by their choice of materials, type of display, dial and bracelet.
Many skills originating from the art of watchmaking, micro-mechanical technology, design or softwares are brought together in this way to complete the design of the new watch down to the smallest component. Once the prototypes have been built they undergo an extensive range of tests, often extreme: precision, water resistance, impact, wear, corrosion and climatic conditions, to name just a few.
Depending on the complexity of the project, this phase may require several thousand hours of work.
