CERTIFICATION MARKS

Geographical indications are not trademarks as such. However, the legislation of some countries and territories provides an additional instrument enabling them to be protected, namely the possibility of registering an indication of origin as a trademark. That is the case for the indication Swiss and Swiss made which are registered trademarks in the United States and in Hong Kong. In those countries and territories, watches bearing these indications must therefore respect the customary rules which make specific reference to the Swiss Federal ordinance.
